Delightful Diversity

From your base in Bolzano, you can choose from a variety of routes. For instance, take the train to the scenic Merano and enjoy a relaxed downhill ride back to Bolzano. Another option is to take the cable car up to Oberdozen and cycle through the Alps, taking in breathtaking views as you gently make your way back along the river to your base on the sunny side of the Alps.

La Dolce Vita in Italy

For the ultimate dolce vita experience, cycle south along the winding Adige River. Another beautiful option is to descend, with the breathtaking Dolomites as your backdrop. After passing through vineyards and picturesque villages, you'll reach Trento, known for its Renaissance palaces. Grab a café before hopping on the train back to Bolzano. The variety of routes, including trips to Brixen and Lake Caldaro, which can be combined with cable cars and trains, make this holiday wonderfully diverse. As a bonus, we also offer two scenic hikes for this destination!

Trento Through the Ages

Trento is home to numerous churches and centuries-old palaces in Gothic and Renaissance styles, and thanks to its prestigious university, many museums, and historically significant sites, it boasts a rich cultural heritage. Park your bike for a while and explore the old town on foot, taking in the Duomo, the impressive square with the Neptune Fountain, the palazzi with their painted facades, the towers, and the narrow streets. The Castello del Buonconsiglio, once the residence of the Prince-Bishops of Trento, is now a museum.

The Iceman Ötzi

Bolzano is home to the world’s oldest known resident: Ötzi, who lived over 5,300 years ago. You can see his well-preserved body at the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, kept at -6°C. Ötzi was discovered emerging from a melting glacier, turning him into both a scientific marvel and an international sensation. His story is fascinating; he was murdered by unknown assailants on a mountain top and was only discovered in 1991 by climbers who initially thought they had found a fellow hiker who had died in an accident. The man from the ice was given the nickname Ötzi, after the Ötztal Alps where he was found.
