A cycling holiday in the Netherlands

The Netherlands is truly a cycling country. It offers beautiful nature, numerous waterways, and a unique culture. Cycling is the DNA of the Netherlands, interesting fact: there are more bicycles in the Netherlands than people! This means excellent cycle paths and great facilities for cyclists. The flat landscape is also very suitable for recreational cyclists that are looking for a more beginner-friendly biking holiday. The climate of Holland is very similar to the United Kingdom, as it has mild temperatures. Although the humidity level is relatively high which makes the perceived temperature during hot summer days higher.

Booking a cycling holiday with Happy Cycling Holidays offers you something different than with other providers. Where classic themes such as cheese, flower fields, windmills, and cows are often highlighted. Our biking holidays in the Netherlands are especially suitable for people who are not looking for these standard sights, but who want to be surprised by the varied landscapes and unique sightseeing that the Netherlands has to offer.

We searched for the most unique spots and comfortable hotels, and present you beautiful local spots without mass tourism. Pick a holiday that suits your cycling level

Our indicators for difficulty help you pick the trip best suitable to your skill level. Generally speaking the routes for all our biking trips in the Netherlands are beginner-friendly, but still have a healthy portion of challenges to keep it interesting. If you are looking for the most challenging trip we have to offer, we would recommend Ijssel and Vecht. This holiday offers beautiful landscapes around the rivers Ijssel and Vecht. While combining this with a healthy challenge, since the distances are a bit longer and it includes a short climb to your comfortable hotel on the Sallandse Heuvelrug.

During our individual cycling holidays, you travel with your own group and without a guide. Armed with a clear map and route description full of attractions, you determine your own travel pace. During the single centre holidays, you take a day trip every day. The cycling routes on our distance holidays take you from hotel to hotel while luggage transport is arranged for you.
