First, you travel by train to the old fortified town of Beaugency, located along the Loire. It was already an important site in the late Middle Ages due to its strategic position at the only bridge between Blois and Orléans. From this time, parts of the city walls, the beautiful abbey church, a massive keep, and the château have been preserved. After exploring the town, you cycle mostly along the dike towards the next Loire bridge. However, you stay on the quiet riverside and make a small detour to the charming village of Suèvres before heading back to Blois.
