Romantic Alsace

The trek begins in the beautiful Strasbourg and takes you through Osthouse, Sélestat, and Colmar, where the romance of the facades is palpable. With its timber-framed houses, the village feels German, but also shows a touch of French influence. Or is it the other way around?

Famous Wine Villages
You lean your bike against an ancient facade, full of colorful geraniums, stroll through winding cobblestone streets, pause by a bubbling fountain, and settle down on a cozy terrace. Is it still too early for a glass of wine? Well, just one then. Later, continue to famous wine villages like Rouffach, Guebwiller, Eguisheim, Turckheim, Kientzheim, Kaysersberg, Riquewihr, and Ribeauvillé, which are strung together like pearls. And they are just as beautiful as Colmar. The grape pickers along the way make delicious Alsace wines, but by now, you probably already know that. Finally, Obernai awaits with its small, picturesque Old Town.

Heavenly Delights

During this cycling trip, you will also get to know a variety of delicious treats. Flambéed tart, for instance, sauerkraut with numerous types of sausages, and not to forget the special cheeses. Because no glass of wine is complete without a delicious piece of cheese. These two French products are simply made for an eternal marriage. Together forever in... heaven on earth.

Like a Fairytale

Be sure to stop in Eguisheim, just south of the busier Colmar. This village also makes a strong case for being the most picturesque postcard in Alsace. The narrow streets seem straight out of a fairy tale, so enchanting. The village is listed among Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, the most beautiful villages of France. And rightfully so! With facades adorned with flower boxes full of colorful geraniums and centuries-old alleyways, romance seems to flow through every street.

Charming Obernai

An ancient city wall surrounds the historic center of this town. Thanks to the harmonious blend of half-timbered houses from the Renaissance and Middle Ages, it is a delightful place to walk through the narrow cobbled streets, searching for the town hall, the 13th-century belfry, and the well with six buckets in Renaissance style from 1579.
